I currently have a logo that's shown on my website at www.deberlyllc.com
I need to upgrade the website as well as the logo, but only focusing on the logo for now. Since this logo was made I moved to New Orleans, LA and would like for the logo to reflect this somehow. The most common symbol used to represent the city is the Fleur de Lis. I consider the Fleur de Lis to be a pretty safe symbol to use and perfectly acceptable. I will look favorably on representing the city in other ways besides a Fleur de Lis. The logo does need to represent a clean, corporate image as opposed to the festive, playful atmosphere commonly associated with the city so Mardi Gras beads or masks are discouraged. I'm attaching some proofs from a recent submission of ideas. I liked and disliked various things about each of them. Some very close to what I'm looking for but just not quite there yet.
You can find information about what I do on my website, but I can summarize again. I provide consulting services to the construction industry. Clients include lawyers, insurance companies, owners and general contractors. I'm also attaching a very old logo I used years ago right out of college on my resume. Anything associated with tools, drawings, drafting, blueprints, measurements, surveys, etc, etc....are encouraged.
For whatever its worth I'm also in the process of getting my contractors license and setting up a general contracting company called Industry Street Construction. The facebook site is https://www.facebook.com/iscnola/. I don't know if it would work for my consulting company but I really like the street tiles shown in the banner on that page. There are street tiles in the concrete street corners through out the city. Just in case you're looking for ideas for a particular font or a way to represent the city instead of a fleur de lis.
Something that's important to me about the logo design is that the orientation is flexible. It needs to be able to be arranged horizontally as well as vertically for different applications. For example at the top of a letterhead it may be rectangular, but if I want to print something on shirts or get truck stickers a vertical orientation is more appropriate. This is usually done with a unique stand alone symbol without text that can be oriented around the text for different applications.
