About 4 years ago inwas diagnosed with a rare cancer known as Neuroendocrine Carcinoma while pregnant with me son. Between raising a newborn, working, and enduring chemo and radition treatments, I yearned for an outlet to relieve my stress. Our house was outdated and I always had an eye for decor and color so I'd paint every room in the house.
I found it not only strengthed my body during treatments, but more so my mind. It really centered me. Once i touched that paint brush finally, i coukd focus on the paint gliding on the wall while losing those thoughts of fear, pain, and sickness.
They say some women find their "center" through Yoga, I find mine with paint!
