Design a Simple Linear Rail System - Drawer Loading System by davidhughes
Hi everyone,
My company is after a simple loading solution for a piece of machinery we have.
Previously the machinery was mounted inside a larger truck.
Please download the attached pdf. It will explain the task using a simple drawing.
To put this in words. we have a machine that we would like to mount in a van. Loading and maintenance is an issue as we do not have a lot of head room.
We would like to wheel over a trolley, connect it to the van via a pin and then slide the machine out on rails with out twisting the machine.
The machine weighs 1200kg when fully loaded 2000 pounds.
The project can be broken up into 3 separate parts Van Rails, Machine Carriage and the Loading Bed or Trolley.
No need to design the whole system to begin with, just show the rails and the way you imagine this working. I have shown a few rails on the attached pdf. If you have something better please put it forward.
Height is restricted so a low profile design is necessary.
Aluminium or steel, maybe a mix of both.
Please keep in mind weight, height and uneven ground. We would like the system to be produced from readily available parts.
