The client is a swedish drifter with alot of humour and a caring and loving personality. We need a sticker that we can use for sticker bombing! I'm thinking his face on the sticker. He's kinda recognized for his cap and his sunglasses, as you can see on some of the pictures that I attached. So a clean and simple design that involves those things would be great. Algorithm to determine IPv4/IPv6 address reputation by nkukard
I am looking for a math wiz that can come up with a new and innovative way to determine IP address reputation from 0 to 100 based on many factors. 0 being neutral and 100 being extremely bad.
Here is the data we have to work with...
Factors:
* Events are stored for 90 days
* Each event or IP (your choice, or both if you want) has a weight from 0 to 255 or from -127 to 127, higher is more probable to be bad
* We have a unix timestamp when the event occurred. We have the first date we saw it and the last date we saw it
* We have the number of reported events between the first to last date seen
* We have a total number of reporters (companies) that reported the IP. We have the number of times this company reported the IP.
* We have a total number of agents (servers) for each reporter (company) that reported the IP. Each reporter can run multiple agents. If they did not report in 7 days they are flagged inactive. We have the number of times this agent reported the IP.
* We have the number of agents per reporter. Probably not relevant, unless we fold the agent IP to /24 (v4) and /64 (v6) and work out how far apart they are (distribution of events)
* Weight should probably be given to outbreaks in events, the more in a short time reported the more chance the reputation is bad
* We can get the owner of the IP, the size of the range the IP is in and how many IP's were seen (with all the above stats)
* The IP owner should probably have a score aswell which increase the more IP's of theirs are listed? maybe based on the size of the ranges we detect the IP's in
* The data cannot be considered 100% accurate, using multiple reporters to "verify" IP events may be an idea to pursue
* The algorithm should probably take into account that multiple reporters for the same IP increases its probability, or verifies it?
Keep in mind, that MySQL queries must be done to get the above stats. We need to keep the overhead low. The algorithm must also be easy to implement, a = cos(a + z) * sqrt(c / 6) ... etc. (Prize: 190)
