Design a Logo for a Microbrewery by igniterepublic

As previously mentioned the logo designs will keep coming. We have a long way to get yet!
Need your help to design a logo for my new microbrewery (probably nanobrewery is a better description) called 'Kia Kaha Brewing' . Kia Kaha means be strong in the Maori Language
It will need to include the Chinese characters ä½³å¡åã 'Since 2014' and the slogan 'Be proud, Stay Strong' are optional
I'm torn between going to two different styles so I'm going to put both directions out there and see what you like better and get a feeling for.
1. Some along the lines of the RNZAF (Royal NZ Airforce) sign with a Red Kiwi with Navy blue surrounding. I like the navy blue and want to keep the kiwi but turn it into green with a beer hop like pattern. The lettering can be inside the navy blue ring in white. Maybe face the kiwi in the other direction as registering a trademark that is similar to a military emblem is a bit sensitive. Would be cool to see what symmetrical barley grains would look like wrapping this as per mentioned below in 2.
2. Please see the Spirit of Maori Rugby logo. I really like this and think you can use it as a base but don't want you to copy it. The like the font with 'koru' (spirals). Koru is the Maori word for âbightâ or âloopâ and refers to new shoots of the silver fern. The original design has symmetrical silver ferns which can be substituted for symmetrical wrapping barley.

Rather than using a shield shape as in the above mentioned logo I would like the inner shape to be a Toki (see attached photo). Toki is the Maori tribal symbol of strength. This symbol resembles determination, control, strength and focus honor. Its shape represents an axe head.

We are a property development company in the UK and currently have an active website which is in Flash.
Our requirements are to :
1. change the coding from Flash to HTML to allow our website to both be viewable on non-flash based devices (SEO optimization is a bonus but not a priority).
2. make some changes to the layout and content to make it more modern.
For example, tabs such as 'home', 'about', 'current portfolio', 'gallery', and 'contact' are currently at the top with pictures underneath. We would like to change the tabs to the left side of the screen and make pictures larger to fit the entire screen. We will also change some of the pictures and text.
3. set-up a CMS system that allows us to change future project details and gallery page content (such as pictures, and text) ourselves without the need for input from a web design company. The CMS system will allow such basic changes - we will not require whole website design via the CMS (for future major website changes, we would come back to your company).
NB: we do NOT have need for a blog, forums, or social networking content (such as twitter / facebook / linkedin links).
We do NOT sell anything from our website and do NOT need ecommerce or shopping cart content.
WE do NOT require web-hosting (which we have currently).
Terms and Conditions:
You will give us a fixed cost to carry out the works as requested.
You will carry out the work within a space of 1 month from our acceptance of your cost.
You will communicate via email with us via Freelancer.com
You will advise us as to whether you will make the changes to the exisiting site coding in order to make the changes in 2. above to our website or whether you will re-design the website in HTML (since it is being changed to HTML in any case).
You will NOT use programs promising to convert flash to html (as they are generally inefficient). You will recode in HTML (eg by taking a screenshot of the site and then bring it into a program like Photoshop and recreate it there before slicing it into HTML. Once it is in HTML ... it can simply be converted to a WordPress theme) or use some other efficient method.
You will provide us with options for a basic easy to use CMS system before coding so that we may judge which system best allows us to update content in the future without the need for any technical knowledge (i.e. the CMS system should be easy to use for a non-IT and non-technical person).
You will provide us with the PSD (Photoshop) files, the HTML files (and all images), as well as the WP theme.
You will upload all necessary files to our website (via cpanel) to ensure that the website is functional in its new format.
You will validate the coding and make sure it is 100% functional (i.e. that our website is fully functional in terms of content, load times, speed, and functionality). We will agree in writing via email via Freelancer.com that the website is fully functional before full and final payment is made.
