Refactor and Add Async to a Working Xamarin Android App by kjopc
This is a Xamarin Android contest with a guaranteed $50 US for the winner.
I have attached the source code of the complete working Xamarin Android project in C#. The application asks the Android user to select an image and then on a button click submits the image plus prefilled form data to the Web API at a demo web site. I want the code refactored to use asynchronous functionality (await and async).
Specifically, this contest is to implement the following:
- Display a Progress bar and disable/hide the buttons while sending and receiving data
- Ensure that network functions do not block the UI thread
- Dismiss the Progress bar in the case of a networking error
- Use and document the async and await keywords in your code
- Use only the existing classes and libraries and C# code
The deliverable is the complete contents of one file (MainActivity.cs) that I can copy into my Xamarin project and test against the Web API.
The winning entry will be judged by error-free compilation; the requested functionality; a quick turnaround; documentation of the changed code; re-use of the existing code.

Hello I am looking for screen cast video with editing and to look nice. 1080 HD final with after effects source file. Looking for someone to do long term work with consider this a sort of test to find the best.
I am launching a dentistsâ directory site.
My main competitor s 800 dentist - they have massive market share.
When you go to their site to find a dentist, you have to go through 7 screens, including giving up personal information like email name and phone number, and at the end, you are told we will have a call center call you back! Very frustrating. What the call center does, is call the dentists they have in the area, and see who will pay $100 - $150 for the patient lead, then the patient is called back with the doctor information.
When you come to our site, wavesofdentists.com the browers asks for permission to view your location, the browser then zooms in on your area, and displays a map of the dentists closest to you. You click, and get the dentistsâ info. Very fast, very user friendly, the way directories should run, and it puts the patient directly in touch with the dentist.
I think that a side by side comparison - short and sweet - will be a very effective video for selling my service.
What would make it even better would timers on each side, rocking though how long it takes to get ahold of a dentist on each side.
Wavesof is also very mobile friendly
OH.. One more thing⦠Iâve been in this business for a long time to know I canât show anything on the competitionâs site that identifies them as (800) dentist. It violates the terms of use, and I open myself to a law suit.. the screen where there are images of people, or logoâs would have to be blurred or otherwise covered.. the crux of the competitionâs screencast is how horrible the process is⦠I donât want their site immediately identifiable.
