A logo which depicts the Atlantic Humpback Dolphin in its natural environment. The Atlantic Humpback Dolphin is endemic to the coast of tropical West Africa. It is very rare and is threatened by human activity, especially accidental catches in fishing nets. The Wildlife Conservation Society has researched this species in Gabon and Congo since 2008. Current efforts include outreach to local fishing communities, in whose hands the dolphin's fate lies. The project needs to start producing materials (t-shirts posters etc) and for this we require a logo.
The logo needs to be eye-catching but simple (as few elements and colours as possible, given printing limitations in the area). Ideally depicting dolphins, their proximity to the coast (100 metres, spending most of the time in the surf), local fishing pirogues, and if possible coastal rain-forest.
Initial competition is to identify a suitable designer, further refinement of the piece can proceed as a freelancer project. (Prize: 100)

I would need ideas for alternative website design for a classical consulting office.
We are an internationally acting consulting office, specialized in the healthcare, pharma- and medical devices industry. The Company is Europe based. Until now, web was not considered to be important at all, as we never make clients through that channel, we have 90 % of our assignments from recommendations on an international level. We had a website, because a company needs to have one.
Sometimes potential customers during the selling phase took a look (we track via etracker) on our services on the website - as a kind of pre-information.
We distribute weekly to about 8000 executives and deciders in the above mentioned industry a newsletter and generate in this way customer relationship and motivate the readers to go for additional information on our huge database on the website.
The website is some kind of ugly, of low attractiveness, not very clear and neat, - holds tons of valuable information which is widely recognized -but - as I said -not very attractive (too much text on the landing page, boring landing page, over-simple structure, not very neat appearance of the text) .
Our clientele - in this industry - is rather "conservative and traditional" but - on the other hand - likes compelling and attractive ideas on how things are presented (this becomes evident when you have to deliver presentations: they get - and expect - high charting quality, very clear and stringent wording, nice charts or graphs, self-explaining, to be caught on "one look", etc.
I want to - urgently - do some changes and mock-up the site and then create sub-micro websites, but do not want to put too much time and money and resources into it. As I mentioned, it's not (yet) contributing to anything in our business. Maybe this can be changed.
I have some Ideas how and what to change and would like to have some quick input before I initiate these changes. Maybe there are so nice and convincing suggestions out there, that we can just pick and choose and get it done in a finalized way, ask to be programmed as a template for liferay instantaneously. That is the reason why I would like to get your ideas.
The best idea will be selected. After walking through the designs that I hopefully will receive, I can imagine to assign the follow-up phases of the change - the - website appearance project UNDER THE CONDITION THE DESIGNER IS ALSO ABLE TO CONVERT THE DESIGN INTO A liferay compatible template - for level 1, 2 and database entry part.

We will provide the full structure and a "wireframe" on the basis of the ideas that we get. We do not want to prejudice the ideas. After the idea stage we will precisely lay-out and explain, what exactly needs to be implemented in the first and second level format template / skin.
We are curious to see what ideas are coming up. We expect not a full fledged and final layout. For this stage we want to gather ideas on a bit more than just a scribble - a wireframe snapshot would do
