Monthly Thought Leadership Article - Investment Portfolios -- 3 by MainstreetAU
It is envisaged this will be a monthly publication (commencing November 2015) that examines the YTD performance of equities markets and discusses the outlook for future performance based on thematic issues or trends that are emerging as drivers of future performance.
We are in the process of creating and managing four (4) direct equity investment portfolios; Australian Income; Australian Smaller Companies: Global Resources and; Global Leaders - highly recognised global brands. These investment portfolios are targeted at financial advisers for distribution to their retail investors. These portfolios, while actively managed, are designed to be 'Buy and Hold' portfolios - they will not be trading portfolios.
Please - I do not want or expect contributors to develop and construct the investment portfolios outlined above. This article is not about selecting stocks for these portfolios. I stress that these series of articles should be a "thought leadership" series that raises awareness of current issues impacting equity market investments.
Topics for articles could include:
1. Why international diversification should be compulsory for Australian investors;
2. Investing in smaller companies - if research is less prevalent on smaller companies, does that make the market less efficient and, therefore, provide the investor with better upside?
3. What is the outlook for the resources sector? Following a ten year boom in resources are we looking at a ten-year slump? Is it too early to invest? Does the outlook for a global resources portfolio appear brighter than investing in a domestic one?
4. Discuss the countercyclical argument of buying stocks and sectors that are out of favour?
5. There could also be discussion examining the pro's and con of a 20 stock portfolio versus simply buying a managed fund (mutual fund).
The topics of the publications should be planned out at least three months prior, to ensure continuity in the evolution of thought process and the investment framework.
All the topics outlined above are only ideas provided to stimulate your mind. These articles are less about why we have chosen the stocks that we have and more about the bigger picture of portfolio construction and stock selection.
While the articles should have an academic 'flavour' (and I stress "flavour"), the audience is financial advisers and retail investors. It should, therefore, be written so as a Grade 6 student could understand it.

Looking for an artist to create a character based off the files added here. We like the style of Candy Killer / Nycho's work. We do NOT want to rip them off, just the general feel to their art is what we are going for.

I create balloon decoration for parties, weddings, openings, birthdays etc.
As soon as the logo is seen by a potential customer they must get a happy feeling and immediately know that it is all about balloons.
The logo bust be colorful, cheerful and not to hard to recognize if seen on its own.

My preference are the metallic colors.
