This is a relatively simple logo design project, but will require creative thinking to be unique.
This logo is for a website portal. The website is all about real estate in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, and is targeted to local Canadians who are looking to buy or sell a property in the City of Scarborough. Please look up "Scarborough, Ontario, Canada" in Wikipedia to learn a little bit about the city. It is a relatively large city, within the larger City of Toronto.
The logotype we are looking for needs to be clean, and the word "Scarborough" needs to be sans-serif. The other two words will be "Real Estate".
The word "Scarborough" is of course the main word. It should get significantly more attention than the words "Real Estate". Additionally, there will be many times when it is used alone, and therefore, it needs to have a feeling of community, home, and good, comfortable living. The message is a "better life" attainable by purchasing property in this city, but very specific to "home", which could mean a house or an apartment depending on the person.

This scheme includes orange, blue, green and brown. But, we use orange for something very specific, so DO NOT use the colour orange or any variant of orange in the logo. Also, feel free to use some grey, as grey goes will as a fallback from the main colours of this scheme, and most others.
THIS LOGO WILL NEED TO BE VECTORIZED.
Here's some ideas that you can work with, for the "Scarborough" logotype, but use your own creativity and ideas if you believe you have an idea that is better or more suited:
- an integrated graphic in the logotype that helps present the message
- imagery integrated into the logotype instead of color
We will give feedback daily. Our ratings will mean the following:
1 star: We don't find this logo an acceptable option.
2 stars: This logo has some good points, but need some revision to be better. However, we don't know what would make it better.
3 stars: We have ideas on how this logo could be revised, and we MAY send you these ideas.
4 stars: This logo is extremely close to what we'd consider an effective logo for this requirement.
5 stars: This logo is bang on and needs no revisions. It may be the one we choose. Other submissions should look at the logos that have been given 5 stars to understand the overall effect of what we are looking for.
We will not be sealing the contest. We believe that sometimes, looking at someone else's design that was not successful can help you envision a better concept. We also believe other submissions could provide you inspiration, as we all find inspiration in different places. However, we do not like people stealing concepts, so obviously submissions that are blatant copies of others will be rated 1 star.
