I am in need of a basic website structure for what will eventually become an extensive website. The purpose of the website will be similar to wikipedia, with the main focus on collecting and presenting information (articles, books, news, photos, videos, etc.) related to culture, heritage, history, and politics in a modern but professional manner.
The website should be modern and clean. There shouldn't be too many distracting features. It should be build on a powerful and safe CMS. I have experience with WP, and given its many available plugins, I prefer this CMS. However, if you believe a different CMS better suits my purpose, you're free to choose a different one. You can/are allowed to use an existing WordPress template to create the required design.
The website will partially serve as a database/directory, so keep in mind to include features that will make searching and navigating the website easy, powerful, SEO & user-friendly. Please don't use an existing WordPress "directory theme" - that's not the type of directory this website will be.
For example, make sure to include an extensive "advanced search" that allows to search for specific keywords, locations, images, and articles, file extensions (pdf, jpg, etc.), and so on. I hope you get the idea.
Furthermore, an advanced and clear menu, with a banner section, is desired.
But it shouldn't be one of those huge cascading menus with photos. It should, at all times, look "professional", not like a basic blog or online amateur magazine.
Homepages with multiple "image blocks", unnecessary "popular" features such as parallax pages that slow down the website, etc. are not necessary either.
Furthermore, the website should already be speed-optimised.
It is not necessary to add content, design logos, colour palettes, etc. You can add random "filler content" to present the different types of pages (category page, news page, article, files, search page, home page, menus, category levels, etc.).
Finally, the website should have the option/ability to activate visitors. For example, allow user registration and allow some pages to be edited by approved users.
The final structure doesn't have to be perfect. I will simply select the best one. That person will get the "prize", but possibility exist that I'll continue to hire you to further develop the website in the future (long-term project).
I have found several websites that I like and that have a similar purpose. You don't have to and should not recreate these sites. They simply serve to inspire you and give you a better idea of what I am looking for. As you can see, most of these websites are professional, clear, modern, but not too distracting. I am primarily concerned about design and functionality.

by adding your protein kal with your fat kal ( 620 + 351 = 971)
remove the 971 from your daily intake .. 2500 - 971 = 1529 !

I am a wedding and family photographer. For wedding photography I have a modern style - a mix of partially posed location photos, but with a big focus on capturing candid moments.
My website is rainermacalister.com - I am keeping my current website design, but will be adding the new logo in place of the current one.
I have no particular preferences for the colour of the logo - I don't want to limit your creativity, there are no colours (including the one I currently use) that I need to incorporate.
You might choose to include a graphical element with your design, or make it text only. If it has a graphical element, then it needs to also be able to be used with the text only (text will be "Rainer Macalister Photography").
It would also be good to be able to use the graphic on its own, or the graphic with just "RM" as the text.
If you also have suggestions for the text fonts I should use with the logo in print, and an accompanying colour scheme for print items, that would be helpful.
I want a logo that is more timeless than trendy. I don't want 'pictures' in it - no cameras, no tripods etc. At least I don't think I do - if you really think you have a good idea, go ahead and show me! (Prize: 120)
