We're looking for a website logo & colour scheme to be created for a website called Atlas.
It's a news/opinion site focused on issues that affect the modern man (e.g. health, relationships, fitness, sports, politics, finances etc.)
What we're trying to achieve is a site that talks about the things guys often don't chat about, and to open up the issues that have been presented by an ever-changing world. The role of the male in modern society has completely changed (for the better in the vast majority of cases), and that has created a whole range of issues that currently aren't being addressed.
We will also be implementing a section on mental health, and aiming to create a community in which anyone (but focused on guys) can open up about their issues and be directed to the appropriate help.
It's super important that entrants are aware that this isn't a typical jock/guy site. We're interested in changing the conversation around many issues, and we respect every view and opinion that is out there. It will be inclusive of everyone, and abuse, rudeness, or antisocial behavior won't be tolerated. But we'll still have some fun :)
So, in terms of the logo we're after something masculine yet modern. Not interested at all in super dark colours, or that traditional male look. We'd love something strong & masculine that projects confidence, yet is modern and light/upbeat in feel/tone. In terms of colours we don't have a preference, which leads to the second part of this project...
We are in the process of designing a website, and would love the input of a graphic designer in terms of developing a colour scheme. There are a few ideas floating around, but we're open to any suggestions. Given that this is a start-up site we're not looking for a massive project in this area, as we expect that things will change rapidly as the site develops. So basically we're just looking for a solid base which we can launch from.
Please bear in mind that it's a two part process (firstly coming up with a colour design, and then developing a logo), so price accordingly. We will require from each entrant:
1. A colour scheme (preferably based on a mock website so we can see how it looks at a glance), but a colour wheel/samples will suffice. Any form of colour scheme must have HTML colour codes assigned.
2. A logo that reflects the ethos of the website, incorporating the colour scheme in part 1.
Note: entries that do not include both elements will be rejected. (Prize: 350)
