I am looking at design for a price comparison website. The website would look at major vendors in the US (Amazon, target, Walmart, shoes.com, nordstorm, smart and final etc) collect information on the price of a certain product and store in our database. The crawler/ api callout would do this regularly to keep our database updated.
The expectation from the contest is to â
a) Advice best practice on how this can be done.
b) What vendors expose apis to get a list of their product prices
c) For what vendors would we need to write crawlers
d) Find out if there are local deals/discounts going on in a particular store of the vendor
e) Mechanism to open the data we collect as api/webservice
f) What tools/languages/3rd Party tool to be used and why - for all of the above?

We would like someone to design our company mascot, which is a ferret.
He needs to be standing on his back legs rather than on all 4 legs.
The animal is to be drawn in a children cartoon style. It is to be drawn in colour (browns and greys, rather than bright colours).
We need 2 different poses of the animal one standing and one holding a empty sign. The image will be used on websites, printed items and material, therefore images will a lot of intricate lines may not works as well.
The ferret needs to show happiness, as this is part of our company name. We want him mad (like crazy/ happy, rather than angry/aggressive), fun and approachable.
