IMPORTANT NOTE....designer must be available to work via skype and/or other media to discuss ideas and design. I speak Spanish, English and Portuguese.
Project is to design a FULL PAGE COLOR with size 8.25" x 10.75". The purpose is to advertise a driving school and its products and services. The name is TrafficMD.com. The website is next project and pending. The logo is being designed, but I will choose between the 2 files attached. My business is a driving school that offers classes, driving lessons and safety products for ANY driver of ANY age. My clients range from 15yr old teenagers TO 30yr old driver with too many traffic tickets TO foreign drivers arriving to USA for first time. The important idea is to create an ad to attract the eyes of parents, teens, good/bad drivers and non-english speakers that want/need to learn more about driving services and products. I will give an idea, but I am OPEN TO YOUR IDEA, STYLE and CREATIVITY. The ad is vertical.
FULL SIZE AD: On the magazine ad, I want to advertise 5 services AND 5 products. My initial idea is to have one "real" photo of a cool car (ex. Hyundai HCD-14, BMW M3 Coupe, VW Beetle or even a Fiat)....this would attract the eye of the viewer. The main picture would have 10 lines coming from different areas of the car and surrounding. If possible, we could photoshop a young driver inside the car and/or have traffic cones in front of the car. Each area will advertise 1 service or 1 product. I have attached a picture for you to understand my idea. Could you give me some ideas of how you would advertise 5 services and 5 products using ONE IMAGE. If we use a car for the main picture, I would like to photoshop our logo on the door, side, somewhere.
The 5 products that I will advertise will be:
(1) Student Driver Magnets....parents will buy these magnets to show other drivers that a student is learning driving
(2) Drivers Book.......many non-English speakers will buy this book to learn the rules of the road.
(3) Car Camera with GPS Tracking.......parents will buy these cameras to see what happens inside the car when the driver is driving and also allows the parent to track the vehicle anywhere in the city.
(4) Online Practice Test.....many students will buy a practice test to help study for the drivers license test.

The 5 services that I will advertise will be:

(3) DUI Classes.......we offer class for students to fix any police problems from driving drunk

THIS PROJECT IS GUARANTEED A WINNER FROM ENTRIES WHICH MEET OUR DESIGN GUIDELINES
We are a furniture retailer established in 2005. We are looking to create a new and unique design of office chair. You can enter the contest by providing a 3D rendered model of a chair in any design software or a detailed pencil illustration. Front, side, top and back view of the chair will need to be submitted. The design should be original for the entry into the contest to be accepted. Copied or old designs, or ones which do not follow the below guidelines will be rejected. PLEASE READ THE BELOW GUIDELINES PROPERLY.
GUIDELINES
You will need to design and model the seat cushion, the backrest cushion and the arms. The style of arm rests and everything under the seat cushion is already decided. Please see the attached picture 1 to see the style of the arms and picture 2 for design all the parts under the seat we need to use. If you want, you can just model the backrest cushion, seat cushion and the arms, however you may include the stem (gas strut) and the 5-star base to give a complete look of the chair.
Think of the attached images 2,3 and 4 as other contest entries. You will need to improve on these designs to win this contest.
As can be seen from picture 1, the arms are folding as they can fold upwards on the round black hinge.
The chair will need to have a storage pocket to the right for storage of the massage remote controller, like picture 2 attached.
What I like about the black chair in picture 2 is that it seems that a second cushion is sewn onto the backrest and seat cushion. It makes it look more comfortable and adds an additional dimension to the design. The design should have mainstream appeal. It should not look so different that customers have trouble accepting it as an office chair. Very different looking designer look will not be acceptable by many customers. So it should look like a regular office chair but with a unique and attractive style of cushions which looks comfortable.
The chair backrest needs to recline back by about 25 degrees, as is the case in the attached picture 5. This is done by the recline mechanism fixed under the seat when the button on the right side of the seat is pressed. You just need to make sure that the backrest cushion is not obstructed by the seat cushion when the back reclines about 25 degrees. It is not a big issue as this can be corrected in the manufacturing.
The chair material is leather and it will be filled with foam. The chair should be made from leather throughout.
The chair should look comfortable. The padding should look generous but the chair should not look too thick that it distracts from the design and makes it look chunky. Please find attached a picture 6 showing dimensions for a regular chair.
Office chairs usually have good padding on the lumbar area (lower back). If you look at the attached pictures you will find this area protrudes forward a bit to support the lower back. The top of the backrest goes back a little to support the shoulders. So looking at the chair sideways, it is not straight but a bit S-shaped. It goes in to support the lower back and back out again for the upper back. This is an important considertaion when designing the chair as it should support the whole of the back of the person using it.
Part of the cushion design, is to add the stitching lines. This is where the cushions will be sewn. The panels stitched together should not be too far away as it can cause the leather to go loose quickly. Beautiful shape, angle and position of stitching goes a long way towards enhancing the look of the chair.
You may experiment with buttons on the backrest cushion (google barcelona chair as an example). But the buttons should not be on the lumbar (lower back) area. (Prize: 290)

Interactive Web Application by marcoamuniz
I need a web application similar to Weebly.com or Wix.com or Webs.com, with all functionality as well. This will be part of my graduate final project.
You can base your design, layout and coding in HTML5 and/or JQuery, but feel free to advise. You can use the same layout and graphics design as one of the above website examples, please advise which one you think is the best one.
Just surf and try all of the examples above (WIX, Weebly and etc) and figure out the best solution, the best interactive and the best functionality and easy of use.
Also take a look at docebo.com to figure out how I think the flow should work. note that the user fills in some basic info and then is taken to a main page.
I mean that the application will have to work in that kind of context.
This is the first phase of the project. The winner will be invited to do the others 2 phases, which is similar to this first one, another web application, but with a few others features. But the second one will be easier, since you will be using this first one as a basis (70%, at least).
Basic requirements:
1. the application must be able to save the layout and the "created web site" in a given folder that will be an addon domain within a main domain.
It will have a SAVE button, just like the examples sites above, and then the new created web site will be saved to a folder (an addon domain). also the application will have to open (load) an existing created web site...again, just like the examples above.
2. The application will be called from a menu item link, which when clicked will load the main application page.
3. You can base the functionality upon widgets.
4. Deliverables: source codes, pages, layout and any documentation you want to provide.
5. Include any PHP (or other) server side scripts, for instance, the one that create the addon domain, with the folders. This could be a script to use in cPanel framework.
6. try to use XML files to avoid hard coding the application texts, labels and etc, so it can be easily customized or maintained.
I think playing with the examples websites will give exactly the whole idea.
