We are unhappy with the existing skin. It is graphics heavy and difficult to follow. We want the new design to be simple, have a lot of white space and be easy to understand for basic users. It needs to look modern.
Your design must have placeholders for advertisements (commercially acceptable-sizes, text, image and video). The advertising spaces should blend well and not overwhelm the viewer. Each page must have room for at least three ads.

We are in need of a new logo for our company in 2015. Our company is http://www.rodypolis.com. You can see the current logo on our website, and I've also attached a PNG of our current logo to this contest.
Pretty much, we're looking for a cooler, more modern, and memorable logo for our brand in 2015. Our company designs effects and stock footage for video editors and VFX artists, so we're looking for something that speaks to that crowd. I would really recommend browsing through our site to get acquainted with our brand.
We have a few requirements for this new logo:
1. Our brand's color scheme is a slightly dark and desaturated RED (refer to our site and current logo for that color). Grayscale colors like white & gray can also be used.
2. The brand name is RodyPolis. That is one word.
3. I would like to see two versions of this. One with just the logo (the brand image), and one with the logo and the word "RODYPOLIS"
4. The word RODYPOLIS itself is less important. The most important is the logo. That will be the symbol that goes on to represent the brand. Text is easy to change and forget, but an image stays with you. Give me a great icon. One that is memorable, and make my company look professional.
5. No film strips, or other gimmicky "film" designs in the logo. I know our current logo does have a film strip, but I want to get away from that. So no cameras, lenses, and other film stuff.
6. No shines, or excessive gradients in the logo. I know our current one has a shine, but we're going for a flatter, more modern look this time around.
7. Our customers are highly creative video editors and visual effects artists. Meaning, they are creative people, so not any basic logo will be good enough.

Makin' a hook by ejrocket
I need a graphic for a new boat. It's going to be a combination oilfield and fishing theme. "Makin' a hook" It needs to have a drilling rig in the background with a roughneck throwing a spinning chain like in the attached images. The end of the spinning chain needs to have a hook attached with either a fish hooked or the hook wrapped around the fish. The blue and black boat attached is going to be the actual boat. The black and red boat is so you can have an idea of how I will be placing it on the boat. "Makin' a hook" needs to be in large clear font and the entire graphic needs to coordinate with the boat color scheme. I have attached several images to give you some ideas.
