Design a Logo for a Pet (Dog) Travel (by Car) website by gerrymolloy
WoofAdvisor provides information and resources on Pet Travel, Pet Friendly Accommodation / Destinations, Services, Amenities for a Community of Pet Lovers. (WoofAdvisor is one word, upper case W and A in slightly larger font)
The essence of the site is to to make travelling with pet companions easy and fun for pet owners. The tone we want to capture is the unique relationship between owner and dog.
WoofAdvisor is about helping dog owners bringing their dogs on trips / holidays with them by car - we are definitely not trying to include travel by air / aeroplane. (Note: its overwhelmingly dogs who travel with owners + most of that travel is by car, not by air).
How we want Users to perceive site:
⢠Caring & Respecting (Relationship between Owner and Pet companion)
⢠Authoritative & Challenging (Expectation of Pet Travel)
⢠Resourceful & Professional (Expert Advice / Guides / Resources
Sense of Community!
Itâs about providing reliable and trustworthy information and resources to make travelling with pets easy, enjoyable and fun.
But also to say, this is not a totally fun site just for people who are crazy about their dogs. We need to look professional as well so people will trust us and come to our site to check out / write reviews of pet friendly hotels, look for other resources, and feel it is professional, and therefore reliable and trustworthy enough to share it with other pet lovers.
We talked to a brand consultant and he made the following points:
- Our key message is about the special relationship / bond between a dog owner and his/her (dog) companion so we don't want the logo to be too abstract as it needs to capture the warmth and companionship that is the hallmark of the WoofAdvisor brand relationship.
- We also feel the logo needs to be reasonably vibrant and eye catching.
- The pleasure is doubled when owner and dog take to the road together.
- While it needs to be professional it is also about the freedom of the open road, movement, fun.
- Our key target customer is a professional, single woman in her mid-forties.
While the logo and the name WoofAdvisor together epitomise our brand, ultimately we are trying to create some type of icon that can also be used on a standalone basis, separate from the name WoofAdvisor.
We are fairly open about colours. The graphic designer in our web agency has not started on the design yet as we feel the Logo is going to determine the design feel for the whole site.
